Largest O&G conference in South-East Asia It will be a merger of Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) 2022 and the Malaysia Oil and Gas Services Exhibition and Conference (MOGSEC), as well as the inaugural Petrochemicals Sustainability Conference (PSC) 2022. The conference will be organised by three parties, namely the Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC), Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA) and Informa Markets Malaysia. According to Informa Markets Malaysia country general manager Gerard Leeuwenburgh, pre-pandemic, the OGA brand on its own saw MOGSEC, to be themed “Charting the Future of Oil, Gas and Energy in the Region,” will be a three-day conference from Sept 13 to 15.Meanwhile , PSC 2022, which is hosted by the MPA, will mark its inaugural two-day conference from Sept 13 and 14 with a focus on three areas, namely decarbonisation of operations, circular economy practices and enabler supporting the transition. MPA president Akbar Md Thayoob said PSC 2022 is set to be an interactive platform that encourages conversation, knowledge sharing and engagement among industry players and key stakeholders.

PETALING JAYA: Sustainability, growth and future aspirations of the oil and gas (O&G) industry will be the dominant themes at the largest O&G and petrochemicals conference in South-East Asia to be held in September.

The event, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is expected to attract over 20,000 energy professionals from across the globe to reinforce Malaysia as the industrial region’s hub.

It will be a merger of Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) 2022 and the Malaysia Oil and Gas Services Exhibition and Conference (MOGSEC), as well as the inaugural Petrochemicals Sustainability Conference (PSC) 2022.

The conference will be organised by three parties, namely the Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC), Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA) and Informa Markets Malaysia.

According to Informa Markets Malaysia country general manager Gerard Leeuwenburgh, pre-pandemic, the OGA brand on its own saw 1,992 companies represented from 23 countries, as well as an audience of 27,837 unique visitors from 70 countries.

“Based on the current pace of participation, overall, as a merged event, we positively foresee this year carrying at least 500 represented companies and 20,000 trade visitors, including 1,000 delegates,” he told a press conference yesterday.

MOGSEC, to be themed “Charting the Future of Oil, Gas and Energy in the Region,” will be a three-day conference from Sept 13 to 15.Meanwhile, PSC 2022, which is hosted by the MPA, will mark its inaugural two-day conference from Sept 13 and 14 with a focus on three areas, namely decarbonisation of operations, circular economy practices and enabler supporting the transition.

MPA president Akbar Md Thayoob said PSC 2022 is set to be an interactive platform that encourages conversation, knowledge sharing and engagement among industry players and key stakeholders.

He said the event will prompt meaningful discussions on common strategies to support the journey towards net-zero ambitions.
